Who We Are and How We Evolved

"It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God" (2 Cor. 3:5).

Since 2013, in obedience to God's calling,  Ed and Sherry Benish, as volunteers (meaning no salaries), have been partnering with other ministries in different nations in  fulfilling the Great Commission and preparing the Body of Christ for His coming, all in the power of the Holy Spirit, all for God's glory and honor....

Here is our story!

In the summer of 2013,  Sherry  had a powerful, life-changing encounter with the Holy Spirit, and she was commissioned to go to all the ends of the earth and spread the Good News (Mark 16:15). Shortly thereafter, the Lord gave her a list of places to go to, including when to go, who to go with, and how to minister in each place. (To this day, the Lord continues to add to the list).

Early in the fall of the same year, Sherry and her husband, Ed, were led to form The Good News Mission International, Inc. (a tax-exempt 501(c)(3), non-profit, Christian organization) to have a legal status in fulfilling God’s commission.  

Towards the end of 2013 in December, in obedience to the Lord, Ed and Sherry travelled  from the US to kick off the ministry work in the Philippines (the birthplace of Sherry) with an inter-church, inter-denominational Christian concert on January 1, 2014. The glory of the Lord fell during the event that shocked Ed and Sherry!

In the meantime, the Lord continued to reveal Himself to Sherry and Ed as they read the Bible and worshipped the Lord together in an unprecedented way.

In early 2014,  God repeatedly told Sherry  to create a ministry in her name. She  wrestled with God because she did not want her name "paraded". All her life,  she has always believed that God sees what she does even in secret; that’s why even prior to her commissioning, she did several charity work quietly and anonymously, and,  at times, in the guise of her family and/or company, International Education Center, Inc. (which she later closed in obedience to God). However, because of the relentless nudges from the Holy Spirit and specific instructions on when to file the legal papers for the ministry, Sherry had to obey God. Sherry Benish Ministries was then birthed—legally—in two weeks as the Lord prophesied.

With the Lord’s leading, in the summer of 2014, Ed and Sherry travelled back to the Philippines to launch  Sherry Benish Ministries with a “Camping for Jesus” revival event. Again,  the glory of the Lord fell!  

Ed and Sherry have been getting direct revelations from God,  including the truth that 1) Jesus is the Son of God,  2) Jesus is  the only Lord and  Savior of humankind, 3) Jesus is coming very soon, and 4)  there is only ONE SOVEREIGN GOD revealed in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. 

After teaching in higher education for over 20 years, out of her  immense love for   and  in gratitude and obedience to the Lord, Sherry decided to answer the Lord's call to serve Him full-time, starting in the fall of 2015. In 2017, after a series of prayer and fasting, her husband, Ed, joined Sherry in serving the Lord full-time. Both serve the Lord as volunteers and currently based in the Philippines, following the lead of the Holy Spirit. All for Jesus!
